Friday, December 26, 2014 Artisan Down Under Artisan Partners [profile] is heading to the outback, or thereabouts. On December 22 the Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based mutual fund shop unveiled plans to open an office in Sydney, Australia through its Artisan Partners Australia Pty Ltd subsidiary. The Milwaukee Business Journal and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on the news. Artisan's Australian efforts date back three years, when Artisan teamed up Whitney Drayton and his firm, Grey Pine Advisory. Now Drayton, a Wellington alumnus, is joining Artisan in January as managing director of Artisan Partners Australia. Eric Colson, Artisan's president and CEO, describes Australia and its neighbor, New Zealand, as "markets with institutional clients and decision making processes that align well with [Artisan's] business model and distribution goals."
