Tuesday, December 9, 2014 The Sue and Bill Gross Emergency Department The bond king and his wife just gave a $10 million gift to a nearby hospital. Today the Mission Hospital Laguna Beach confirmed that it will name its emergency department "The Sue and Bill Gross Emergency Department at Mission Hospital Laguna Beach" thanks to the couple's recent gift. "Laguna Beach is our home and we wanted to help ensure that our community has access to emergency services locally," states Sue Gross, president of the Gross Family Foundation. Kenneth McFarland, president and CEO of Mission Hospital, stated that the donation brings the hospital "ever close to completing Mission Hospital's $200 million comprehensive campaign." Mission Hospital was founded in 1971 in Mission Viejo, and it acquired the Laguna Beach hospital in 2009. Bill Gross joined Janus [profile] at the end of September.
