Capital Group Bolsters Distro Leadership

Capital Group, the mutual fund shop behind American Funds, is boosting its distribution ranks.

Firm spokesperson Chuck Freadhoff confirms that Bryan Walsh, formerly of Columbia Management, has joined Los Angeles-based Capital Group shop to work as a key account executive focused on independent broker-dealers.

"We are thrilled that Bryan is working with us. His joining us furthers our dedication to working with advisors in a way that best fits their needs. If you are an independent, an RIA, then we are going to reach out to you and talk to you so we can understand exactly what it is that you need," Freadhoff says.

MFWire has also learned that Jeff Klepacki, formerly of Delaware Investments, is joining Capital Group as chief of wirehouse sales.

Freadhoff declined to comment on Klepacki's move.

A spokesperson for Delaware confirmed that Klepacki left the firm in mid-July. He was succeeded as head of third-party of sales by Brett Wright, formerly head of the Delaware's Western sales division.
