Wednesday, July 9, 2014 Brownell Finds a Legg for Sentinel's Distribution The evolution at Sentinel continues. In this instance, CEO Tom Brownell has completed his roughly six-month search for a new chief of distribution, appointing Tom Hirschmann as the new president and chief executive of distribution arm Sentinel Financial Services Co.. Hirschmann, who was formerly managing director, head of U.S. sales at Legg Mason, replaces Jim Cronin, who left in December. Sentinel has witnessed significant changes in the upper ranks. For example, previous CEO Christian Thwaites departed in June 2013, with Brownell originally declared his interim successor, only to be named permanently to the role that August. Chief marketing officer D.R. Shaw left in August 2013, and former national sales manager Tim Call departed in December. Call joined alt shop Crow Point in to serve as their chief of distribution.
