A Guggenheim Distro Chief Switches to Charity

One of Guggenheim Investments' distribution chiefs is refocusing on charitable and socially responsible efforts.

MFWire has learned that Penny Zuckerwise, senior managing director at Guggenheim Investments parent Guggenheim Partners, will take over corporate social responsibility and philanthropy for Guggenheim Partners. Zuckerwise previously served as head of institutional distribution for Guggenheim Investments.

A Guggenheim spokesperson had this comment for MFWire:

Guggenheim Partners has named Senior Managing Director Penny Zuckerwise to lead its Corporate Social Responsibility and Philanthropy efforts Firm-wide. She assumes the newly created position after serving for several years as Head of Institutional Distribution in Guggenheim Investments. The move is a part of a senior management-led initiative to place even greater focus on the Firm's philanthropic activities in the communities in which it operates.

Zuckerwise takes the helm of the year-old CSR&P committee from Jonathan Barnett, senior managing director of Guggenheim Securities. Zuckerwise joined Guggenheim Investments in 2011, after leading Russell Investments' Americas institutional division.

Zuckerwise's move to the CSR&P leadership post comes after former president John Klein left Guggenheim Investments two months ago. Global chief investment officer Scott Minerd subsequently reassumed the position of chairman.
