Northern Trust Broadens the Role of a Sales Honcho

The responsibilities of Northern Trust senior vice president Marie Dzanis have broadened.

Previously, Dzanis was head of exchange traded funds sales and servicing for the firm, responsible for strategic planning, business development, sales, service and talent acquisition and retention in the firm's ETF business.

Now, as head of funds and intermediary sales and servicing, her responsibilities have expanded to multiple lines of intermediary sales for the firm for both funds and ETFs.

Northern recently hired Paul Berard away from State Street to serve as vice president and business development executive for ETFs at the firm.

Before working at Northern, Dzanis was the eastern U.S. manager for iShares, and its predecessor firm Barclays Global Investors. She also served as a vice president, eastern U.S. manager for JPMorgan Asset Management and a vice president sales manager for Smith Barney.
