How Does an Ex-Intern Take Over a $7.4B T. Rowe Fund?

Fundsters interested in the rise of PMs and in what it takes to join and climb up the ranks of T. Rowe Price [profile] may want to take a look at an article in the Baltimore Sun.

Earlier this week the paper's Eileen Ambrose chronicled the ascension of 37-year-old T. Rowe PM Taymour Tamaddon, who joined the mutual fund giant as an intern 10 years ago and rose until earlier this year he took over the $7.4-billion Health Sciences Fund after the departure of star PM Kris Jenner.

Tamaddon reveals how he pursued T. Rowe prior to the internship, sending the company analyses on stock picks and offering to take executives out to lunch when he was in the area visiting his parents. (Tamaddon comes from Virginia.)
