Monday, August 26, 2013 Szilagyi Builds NY Presence With a Hire from Sentinel Jerry Szilagyi, chief executive of Catalyst [profile] and USA Mutuals [profile] is building up the sales force for both of his companies. For example, Szilagyi has hired veteran wholesaler Marc Jarman to cover the Metro NY territory, as regional partner representing both the Catalyst Funds and USA Mutuals Funds. Jarman comes from Sentinel [profile], where he had covered the metro-New York region since June 2012. He has also worked for Arrow and Putnam. This is just the beginning of Szilagyi's planned hiring. He is also to fill other territories including Mid-Atlantic, Northern California and Colorado. He is also looking for an internal wholesaler in New York. He hired a new head of business development in June. Catalyst markets 13 funds. including hedged, focused equity and strategic income strategies. USA Mutuals, meanwhile, markets such products as the Vice Fund and the Generation Wave Growth Fund Jarman's departure comes as Sentinel is saying goodbye to several top execs. Over the summer Sentinel said adieu to CEO Christian Thwaites, switched out chief financial officer Mike Dellipriscolli, and said goodbye to chief marketing officer C.R. Shaw.
