Wednesday, August 21, 2013 Barrons Profiles a Natixis PM, and Hunter Barrons' Grace Williams profiled Chris Wallis, co-PM of Natixis [profile] Vaughan Nelson Value Opportunity Fund, who is looking for sweet high returns, whatever the market brings. Wallis' team, which includes co-managers, Dennis Alf and Scott Weber, only take positions in companies they believe can return an annualized 15 percent over a three year period, Williams writes. The fund has had returns of 26.95 year to date, outperforming the iShares Russell Mid-Cap Value ETF. On where the market is headed, Williams quoted Wallis as saying, "We've gotten to the point in the market where the economy and multiples have recovered. Going forward, in order to generate attractive returns and move individual stock prices higher, it is going to take companies that can either really drive earnings growth or have some opportunity to restructure the balance sheet…" Williams also noted that Wallis "took on a bear out in the woods and won."
