Amvescap Family Office Taps Morgan Stanley Exec

New York City-based Atlantic Trust Pell Rudman has tapped John Osbon to head its Northeast Division. The firm is a unit of Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management, which is in turn an affiliate of Amvescap. Osbon takes the title of managing director and will be based in Boston reporting to Donald J. Herrema, chairman and CEO of the unit.

Osbon's mandate is to oversee client service and new business efforts, according to the firm, said Ed Rudman, senior partner and co-founder of Pell Rudman. Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management primarily acts as a multi-family office and has roughly $9 billion of assets under management. It has offices in Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Winston-Salem, Baltimore, Wilmington, Denver, Atlanta, London, Palm Beach, and Jersey.

He was most recently at Morgan Stanley where he was responsible for the wirehouse's Boston Private Wealth Management office covering the Northeast. Over the course of a two-decade long career he has also held posts in Morgan's New York office.
