Repetto Revamps DFA's Philosophy


It don't mean a thing, if it ain't got that…profitability.

Such is the revised thinking of Dimensional Fund Advisors [profile]. The Austin, Texas-based firm is targeting profitability, making that the make or break quality it seeks out in a company before it buys its stock, RIA Biz reports.

DFA has used this thinking with some of its separately managed accounts, but is now applying the philosophy to all of its fund products, which have $300 billion of combined assets co-chief executive, Eduardo Repetto suggested at yesterday's Loring Ward national conference.
