ICI Hires Michelle Y. Mesack As Director, Financial Services Policy



Washington, DC, June 3, 2013—The Investment Company Institute is pleased to announce that Michelle Y. Mesack joins the Institute today as Director, Financial Services Policy. She will report to Chief Government Affairs Officers and Co-Heads Donald C. Auerbach and Dean R. Sackett III. Mesack joins ICI from the Mutual Fund Directors Forum, where she served as counsel, managing outreach to Congress and advocating for the Forum’s policy positions before regulatory agencies. Prior to that, she served as an associate with K&L Gates LLP’s Investment Management Practice Group, representing investment companies, independent directors, and advisers on regulatory, compliance, and transactional issues. “We are delighted to add Michelle’s legal experience to our legislative team,” said Auerbach. Sackett added: “We will benefit greatly from the depth of knowledge and proven expertise on legislative issues that Michelle brings. She is a proven professional with an impressive record of achievement.” Earlier in her career, Mesack worked as a legislative assistant to Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL) and legislative analyst for the House Republican Conference. Mesack received her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of the South, and her Juris Doctorate from the George Washington University Law School.
