Are iShares Latest Firsts Jaw-Droppingly Cheap?

The expense ratios of iShares [profile] first two active equity ETFs have caught the attention of the trade press.

Last week the BlackRock unit launched the iShares Enhanced U.S. Large-Cap ETF and the iShares Enhanced U.S. Small-Cap ETF, and now Dennis Hudachek of IndexUniverse almost can't believe the pricing. The large-cap ETF costs 18 basis points and the small-cap one costs 35 bps.

The trade pub notes that the 61 active ETFs on the market boast an average expense ratio of 107 bps. iShares' 288 passive ETFs even cost an average of 41 bps.
