Mutual Funds Aren't Dismissing Activist Investors


Institutional investors, including mutual funds, aren't just puppets for management anymore, according to a Reuters article.

Now, mutual fund shops are at least considering the ideas of activist investors in the companies the funds invest in, according to reporters Jessica Toonkel and Soyoung Kim.

One example given is T. Rowe Price [profile] coming out against a buyout of Dell.

Dimensional Fund Advisors [profile] told Reuters it started meeting with activist investors a few years ago.
