A Dreyfus Fund Director Dies

A former board member for BNY Mellon's Dreyfus Mutual Funds [profile] died yesterday.

According to her obituary in the New York Times, Gloria Mandelstam (born Gloria Messinger) lost her fight with cancer at the age of 83. A Bronx native who graduated from Smith and Yale Law School, Mandelstam devoted her 39-year career to the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers, ultimately leading it as managing director for 12 years.

Her husband, Charles Lawrence Mandelstam, died in 2007. They are survived by a daughter, a son and three grandchildren.

On May 10 at the Yale Club in New York City, the family will hold a celebration of Gloria Mandelstam's life, no RSVP necessary. The family asks that those who wish to honor Gloria Mandelstam direct their contributions to the Theatre for a New Audience or to the North Salem Open Land Foundation.
