Wednesday, November 7, 2012 Jeff Carney Jumps Again Jeff Carney is on the move again. At the end of March, Carney jumped from Putnam to Schwab, taking over the San Francisco- based brokerage giant's retail branch network. Now InvestmentNews and Reuters both report that Carney has left Schwab. "Jeff's decision to leave Schwab reflects a change in priorities for his family, choosing to remain on the East Coast rather than relocate to the Bay Area," Schwab spokeswoman Alison Wertheim told INews in an e-mailed statement. Carney is a longtime Fidelity retirement plans veteran who worked under Bob Reynolds. One of "Bob's Boys," Carney then led the retirement and global wealth and investment management client solutions business at Bank of America before rejoining in 2008, this time at Putnam. Neither article about Carney's departure from Schwab makes mention of his plans going forward. Over his time at Putnam Carney oversaw the retirement plan business, product, communications and marketing. Watch for him to take another top financial services job.
