BONY Goes Outside of Industry for CMO


The Bank of New York has tapped the spirits business for a new chief marketing officer. Joseph V. Tripodi, formerly the chief marketer at Seagram Spirits and Wine Group, is taking the post. He will oversee all of BONY's global marketing, including advertising and branding. He reports to Gerald L. Hassell, president.

Before his time at Seagram, Tripodi was executive vice president, global marketing, products and services at MasterCard International. He also held variety of international and functional assignments with Mobil Oil Corp early in his career and has an undergraduate degree in economics from Harvard University and a master's degree from The London School of Economics.
