Tuesday, September 11, 2012 Who Is Joe Sullivan? With news of Mark Fetting leaving Legg Mason [profile] immediately, many fundsters likely immediately wondered what they needed to know about his replacement.
Foremost, he's a Legg Mason returnee. Sullivan had worked at Legg Mason earlier in his career as well, stating in 1994. He worked at Stifel Financial Corp from 2005 to 2008, in-between his stints at Legg Mason (MFWire). Sullivan has been head of distribution at Legg since December 2010 (MFWire). Prior to that, he had been senior executive vice president since September 2008. One source who knows Sullivan said he had "more business management skills than your typical sales manager."
