Thursday, August 16, 2012 Stork and Reaper for August 16, 2012 The Stork delivered a few new funds today before flying off. Today, William Blair & Company [profile] launched its William Blair International Leaders Fund, which will invest in foreign companies of all sizes. The fund is managed by W. George Greig and Kenneth McAtamney. [SEC Filing] "George and Ken will search for the highest-conviction companies with the strongest corporate performance that we believe will be the long-term category winners." said Michelle Seitz, head of William Blair Investment Management, in a release. Columbia Management [profile] filed for the Columbia Emerging Markets Bond ETF, which will invest in fixed income securities. The fund will be managed by Nicholas Pifer and Jim Carlen. [SEC Filing] DMS Advisors filed for its India MidCap Index Fund. The fund will invest in common stocks in the CNX Midcap Index. The fund will be managed by Peter Kohli, [SEC Filing] Maxim Capital Management filed for its Maxim Real Estate Index Portfolio, which will invest most of its assets in securities included in the Dow Jones U.S. Select Real Estate Investment Trust. The fund will be subadvised by Geode Capital Management and managed by James Francis, Lou Bottari, Patrick Waddell, Maximilian Kaufmann and Peter Matthew. [SEC Filing] Principal Funds also announced in a release today that they launched the Principal Opportunistic Municipal Fund. The fund plans to invest in a broad range of assets and will be managed by Doug Gaylor. "The municipal bond market is one of the most challenging markets in the United States. But we believe that challenge gives rise to many opportunities," Gaylor stated. The Reaper must have taken a sick day, for no funds were liquidated. Meanwhile, other funds are being reorganized. DWS Investments [profile] added two PMs, John Ryan and Fabian Degen, to its DWS Global Income Builder Fund. They will be managing the fund with William Chepolis and Thomas Schuessler. [SEC Filing] Wells Fargo [profile] replaced Niklas Nordenfelt and Philip Susser with Margaret Patel as PM to the Wells Fargo Advantage High Yield Bond Fund. Margaret Patel has been with Wells Capital since 2007. [SEC Filing] SunAmerica Asset Management [portfolio] added Kara Murphy as PM to its Focused Balanced Strategy Portfolio and Focused Multi-Asset Strategy Portfolio. She and Timothy Pettee are responsible for the management of these funds.
