John Simmers is the leader of a group of industry executives trying to buy small broker-dealer Calton & Associates, according to an InvestmentNews report. Part of the purchase of the Calton is a new technology platform. Simmers thinks the platform will give the shop access other small firms can't get. “Our platform for a hybrid adviser is going to be as good as anybody's out there,” Simmers told InvestmentNews.
