Companies Offer Flexible Funds

A number of companies are targeting investors who believe that they can predict what stocks will perform well, Matt Krantz from USA TODAY reports.

One of these notable companies is Folio Investing. Folio Investing employs the Ready-To-Go Folio, a collection of stocks that fit a certain theme or strategy. An investor who buys one Ready-To-Go Folio will own all the stocks within it.

Their competitor, MotifInvesting, offers a similar product, called a Motif, which is also a collection of stocks that fit certain themes. One example is the "Healthy and Tasty" Motif, which invests in the healthy food trend. Investors are allowed to tailor their Motif.

Folio Investing's clients can decide between a basic plan, under which they will be charged four dollars a trade per security, or the Folio Unlimited Plan, which allows investors freedom to build and trade with no restrictions for a certain charge. With MotifInvesting, investors can buy any of the Motifs for a ten-dollar commission, which is charged once.
