The most recent first-tier fund shop to jump in is Franklin Templeton [profile]. ETF Trends reports that the Franklin Resources subsidiary is the latest firm to file with the SEC to introduce actively managed ETFs. Ignites also reports that the first ETF the firm eyes to introduce is a short duration government ETF. The filing also includes launch of funds-of-funds and ETFs for other asset classes. The Ignites report lists T. Rowe Price, JP Morgan, Federated Investors, Dreyfus and Legg Mason as mainline fund firms that have filed for active ETFs.
