Wednesday, May 9, 2012 MStar's Team Breaks Out Two New Categories Some foreign equity fundsters may now have an easier time comparing and contrasting their mutual funds from others. Morningstar editorial director and senior mutual fund analyst Gregg Wolper revealed that as of May 1 the Chicago-based mutual fund ratings experts added two new international mutual fund categories: foreign small/mid-blend and India equity. Wolper noted that the Mstar team normally wants at least 20 mutual funds in a potential category before separating it out. Foreign small/mid-blend will include about 20 traditional open-end mutual funds and nine ETFs, such as Vanguard International Explorer [profile], Oakmark International Small Cap [profile] and First Eagle Overseas [profile]. The India equity category will encompass 11 open-end funds, 10 ETFs, and three closed-end funds. Printed from: MFWire.com/story.asp?s=39962 Copyright 2012, InvestmentWires, Inc. All Rights Reserved |
