Fleet High Net-worth Unit Names New Exec

Fleet Private Clients Group, which is a part of FleetBoston Financial, has hired Richard Lamanno to fill a newly-created position of senior vice president and financial advisor. He will be responsible for delivering planning strategies and wealth-management services to the affluent, those with investable assets of $1 million or more, in the Long Island market. The move by Fleet represents an expansion of its focus on wealthy clients, according to a spokeswoman for the firm. Lamanno reports to Ann Limberg, Fleet Private Clients Group Regional Manager for Long Island.

He will provide interdisciplinary wealth management advice and services, and ensure that Fleet's expertise in estate planning, financial planning, tax, risk management, and philanthropy is tailored to the needs of wealthy individuals. Prior to joining Fleet, Lamanno was a senior banker and vice president with JP Morgan Private Bank. At JP Morgan, Chase Manhattan/b> and Chemical Bank/b>, he held a number of executive positions serving the affluent market.

"The needs of our high-net-worth clients have never been more complex and the solutions never so interdependent among various disciplines, including investment management, tax planning, succession planning and other areas of specialist expertise," said Limberg.
