U.S. News Names the Best ETFs

U.S. News has unveiled its own ranking of ETFs. The pub looked at ETFs with a minimum of $100 million in AUM and at least a one-year trading history for its "Best Fit" ETF rankings.

"Within our universe of Best Fit funds, our rankings focus most heavily on the two factors that mean the most to everyday ETF investors: cost and reliable performance," writes U.S. News' Kirk Shinke.

Here are some of the top-ranked ETFs in popular categories:

  • Schwab Emerging Markets ETF in the emerging markets category
  • iShares COMEX Gold Trust in the gold-oriented category
  • SPDR Dow Jones REIT ETF in the real estate category
  • iShares Russell Top 200 Index Fund in the large-cap category
  • iShares Silver Trust in the precious metals category
  • Vanguard Small-Cap Index Fund in the small-cap category
  • SPDR S&P China ETF in the China region category
