Bond Stars Rock Mutual Funds

InvestmentNews today revealed its top-10 star fund managers and funds in 2011 based on the amount of assets the funds took in this year, regardless of performance.

But are the above-mentioned PMs really the creme-de-la creme of the mutual fund space? Not so, according to John Melloy's article last week. Melloy wrote that Bill Miller’s resignation last week "may mark the end of investment rock stars to emerge from the mutual fund industry as more versatile and higher-paying hedge funds attract the best talent and exchange traded funds offer a lower cost alternative to retail investors."
