Fundsters Say Goodbye to Bakey's

Beantown-based fundsters have one last chance to enjoy Bakey's turkey sandwich and lobster roll. The financial district restaurant, which for years has been one of industry insiders' go-to dining spots, will shutter its doors at 11 minutes past 11 tonight (that's 11:11 p.m. on 11/11/11).

Located at 45 Broad Street, Bakey's is a few minutes' walk from mutual fund firms such as Putnam Investments, Fidelity Investments and Eaton Vance.

Famous fundsters that have been spotted at Bakey's over the years include Fidelity chairman and CEO Ned Johnson and Putnam president and CEO Bob Reynolds.

The mourning has begun. Seventy-four people turned out at a gathering hosted by FUSE Research Network Tuesday night to bid Bakey's farewell.
