Pioneer Realigns its Retail Sales Force

Pioneer Investments has realigned its U.S. retail sales team. The external wholesalers now report to Laura Palmer, who last week took on the newly created post of national sales manager, confirmed Pioneer spokesman Geoff Smith.

Palmer has led the internal sales desk and RIA sales team and served as chief of staff to U.S. retail sales and marketing chief Joe Kringdon. She will continue with those responsbilities.

The externals previously reported to Kringdon.

Kringdon, who is also president of Pioneer Funds Distributor, will "assume a more direct role managing the firm's partnerships with key firms," according to a press release issued by Pioneer this morning.

The three SVPs who oversee the Boston firm's relationships at the home-office level will report directly to Kringdon.

The change will "allow me to focus more on building strong partnerships with critical firms at the home office level," Kringdon said in a press release. "This is an important growth area for our business, and I want to get more strategically involved and focused on working with our wealth management, advisory, investment-only clients, and our business development teams.

Palmer has worked at Pioneer since 2004.
