Fundsters looking to add an even bigger slice of the commodities pie to their portfolios may want to check out the Wall Street Jounal's report on the burgeoning sector.

According to the pub's warnings against betting on the sector, "the human tendency to feed our appetites ever more efficiently, which periodically undercuts commodity prices and in extreme cases has even wiped out entire markets," writes Liam Pleven.

"In this view, betting on rising commodity prices over time is essentially betting that innovation won't triumph."
