Thursday, September 15, 2011 Sentinel Hires Two Sentinel Investments [see profile] has made a pair of hires and promoted one of its sales staff. The Montpelier, Vermont-based asset manager brought on board David Cohen as senior vice president in the investment strategy group. His job is to grow the exposure of Sentinel's offerings on discretionary platforms and recommended lists across broker-dealer, retirement, RIA and bank trust programs. Previously, Cohen worked as a team leader on Hartford Life Distributors' advisory relationship management team. A spokesperson for the Hartford was not immediately able to provide comment on how Cohen's former duties are being handled. The other new hire at Sentinel is Chris Grant, who serves as a wholesaler covering the New York metro region. Grant previously worked at MFS Fund Distributors. An MFS spokesperson was not immediately able to provide comment on how Grant's previous duties are being handled. Also, Sentinel promoted 15-year company veteran Greg Pierce,from internal to external wholesaler for the Great Lakes region.
