Tuesday, August 30, 2011 Performance Trust Unveils its Second Mutual Fund Performance Trust Investment Advisors, a Chicago RIA that entered the mutual fund business last year, has unveiled its second mutual fund, the Performance Trust Municipal Bond Fund [ prospectus] J. Thomas Futrell, an alum of Nuveen Investments and Claymore who recently joined Performance Trust, leads the fund's credit analysis team. Fellow Nuveen alum John Wilhelm recently joined Performance Trust's municipal team. The launch of the fund, say company officials, forms part of the company's strategy to offer individual investors the same scenario-based total return strategy available to its fixed income institutional clients. Performance Trust applies sector and credit analysis to predominately investment grade muni bonds and subjects those bonds to the Shape Management Strategy. The strategy analyzes potential capital appreciation and interest rate risk in a range of up and down financial market scenarios. "There is opportunity with distress, mispricing and inefficiencies in the financial markets," said Peter Cook, PTIA chief investment officer, in a press release on Tuesday.
