Natixis Chief: 'If It's Not a Recession Statistically, It Sure Feels Like It'

Say it ain't so! John Hailer, president and CEO of Natixis Global Asset Management for U.S. and Asia isn't sure another recession is coming, but told the Boston Herald that the Great Recession is still not over for some.

"You and I have friends and family, and a lot of them aren’t doing well,” he said. "Talk to anyone out there, they’re trying to buy things in the malls and supermarkets and prices are rising on their staples. If it's not a recession statistically, it sure feels like it."

He also pointed out the lack of a stabilizing country amid the global downturn.

"You look around the world and there's no one to pull us out," he said. "That puts a weight on the market," he said.
