A Big Apple Value Shop Brings All Sales and Client-Servicing In-House

Dalton, Greiner, Hartman, Maher & Co. [see profile] is now handling all sales and client servicing functions in-house after its contract with third-party marketer Ocotillo Capital expired on June 30, according to Mike Dunn, DGHM's director of sales and marketing.

Ocotillo helped DGHM market its capabilities in the institutional space, focusing primarily on consulting firms that represent pension funds, foundations and endowments.

"It's been an excellent relationship," said Elliott Gartner, co-founder of Scottsdale, Arizona-based Ocotillo Capital.

In the run-up to June, DGHM hired Erin Gilroy from Third Avenue Management [see profile] earlier this year as vice president of marketing and client service. The MFWire.com reported on Gilroy's hiring in March. She and Dunn report to DGHM CEO Bruce Geller.

According to Dunn, who joined DGHM last year, he and Gilroy will pitch DGHM's offerings through both the institutional space and the wealth management segment.

Before joining DGHM, Gilroy worked at Third Avenue for nearly three years. She is also an alum of Bear Stearns and Stanfield Capital Partners.

Asked who is now handling Gilroy's former duties, a Third Avenue spokeperson pointed to an announcement in early June about Randall Faust and Ilka Gregory being appointed as managing directors of institutional sales.
