Firms Struggle with Efficient Distribution Strategies

Asset management firms need to be smarter about their distribution strategies in terms of what they're selling, who their audience is and what their processes are, according to a new study from kasina.

Managers will increasingly have to resort "stealing market share" to a way to bring in assets as market growth slows and investors shy away from the markets, according to Eric Daugherty, principal and director of research. “Managers are having to steal at the expense of others, therefore they need to be smarter in wooing advisors away from other managers," Daugherty told The MFWire.com.

"We're showing them how to segment advisors based on their future value potential and behavioral characteristics."
