GSAM's Distribution Chief Departs

Goldman Sachs Asset Management continues to see changes in its top ranks. Steve McGuinness, co-chief operating officer of the investment management unit and global head of distribution, will bid adieu to the firm next month, InvestmentNews reports.

McGuinness' co-COO, Eric Lane, will take over his duties, according to the pub, citing people familiar with the situation.

McGuinness has been with GSAM for 19 years.

GSAM has seen other high-level departures in the last year.

In February of last year, Marc Spilker, co-head of GSAM, retired from the firm. Ed Forst, who rejoined Goldman in 2009 after a stint at Harvard University, became the co-head alongside Tim O'Neill.

Last December, GSAM's global chief investment officer, Eileen Rominger, left to join the SEC as director of investment management.
