Franklin's Mahoney Now Looks Inward

Michael Mahoney has stepped into a newly created role at Franklin Templeton. Mahoney, most recently a divisional sales manager, is now in charge of internal and digital sales. He reports to Dan O'Lear, executive vice president of U.S. advisory services.

Mahoney, a three-time recipient of Franklin's "Wholesaler of the Year" award, will lead the internal sales staff and "also seek ways to enhance sales techniques to make them more salient in the digital age," according to a press release issued by Franklin on Wednesday.

Noting Mahoney's external sales background, O'Lear said: "Bringing him 'inside' will greatly benefit our internal sales team by strengthening continuity between our internal and external wholesaling teams."

In an e-mailed statement to The MFWire, O'Lear said that "internal Sales continues to be a critical component of our success and potentially even more important going forward. We wanted to add another leader to this area of the organization who had field sales and management experience to drive internal sales to the next level."

Jeffrey Rose, previously a wholesaler covering Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area and northern Minnesota, has taken on Mahoney's divisional sales manager duties for the Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas sales territories.
