Janus Names New COO

Christi Gujral has been promoted to a newly-created position of chief operating officer for Janus International, the global division of Janus Capital Management, the firm confirmed.

Gujral will oversee operations, information and technology, human-resources and finance in her new position. Gujral joined the global unit as an operations director in August 1999.

“Christi’s strong background in operations over more than 15 years, both internationally and in the US, makes her ideally suited to help expand our global business,” said Richard Garland, chief executive officer for Janus International. “In addition, she has shown strategic vision and strong leadership and a deep understanding of the international investment management business.”

Prior to joining Janus, Gujral spent eight years with Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc.'s Financial Data Services division. She is a board member of the Investment Company Institute's (ICI) International Operations Advisory Committee.
