  • Bill Huffman, former co-head and chief operating officer of Nuveen Asset Management, is now president of Nuveen Asset Management. He reports to Schreier.

  • John Miller, former co-head of Nuveen Asset Management, and Tony Rodriguez from FAF are now co-heads of global fixed income

  • David Chalupnik and Keith Hembre, both coming from FAF, lead Nuveen Asset Management's equity and quantitative/asset allocation teams, respectively.

  • John Stevens from FAF serves as head of research for both fixed income and equity.

  • Meanwhile, Frank Wheeler, who was previously head of distribution at FAF Advisors, is now executive vice president, head of retail product development and marketing at Nuveen Investments, reporting to Schreier.

The deal "allowed us to expand our investment capabilities beyond munis and some taxable fixed income offerings," Huffman said in an interview with The MFWire.com on Monday afternoon.

The transaction brought 41 mutual funds from First American to Nuveen. Nuveen Asset Management now has a total of 76 mutual funds with combined AUM of $43 billion.

Company spokeswoman Kathleen Cardoza said approximately 200 FAF employees are now with Nuveen. Of that number, 91 are now with Nuveen Asset Management and the rest are with Nuveen Investments.

Nuveen Asset Management now counts a total of 149 employees.
