Wednesday, December 8, 2010 Fundsters Gear Up for Industry Night in the Big Apple Fundsters from the New York area and beyond will gather tomorrow at the Rare View Rooftop Lounge in Manhattan for an evening of networking. Attendees will also help support financial literacy programs. Attendees are asked to make a charitable donation that will go to the kasina Youth Foundation, which supports two financial literacy programs: Cents-Ability and W!SE. Around 158 people have signed up for tomorrow night's event, said Lee Kowarski, a principal at consulting firm kasina. The group, called Alliance of Financial Leaders, has held get-togethers quarterly over the last couple of years. Tiffani Potesta of First Eagle Funds and Greg Khost of US Trust are the organizers of tomorrow's gathering. Besides First Eagle and US Trust, the event's sponsors include Barron's, Delaware Investments, Franklin Templeton, ING Investment Management, Lord Abbett, Kilcullen, Rothschild, IMCA-NYC, Santa Barbara Asset Management and Bank of New York.
