A Top Mutual Fund Executive is Leaving Nuveen

Alan Brown, the executive leading mutual fund product development at Nuveen Investments [see profile] is moving on from the Chicago-based firm, The MFWire.com has learned.

The date of Brown's departure could not immediately be confirmed. It was also not clear how his duties will be handled.

Brown's assistant referred inquiries to Nuveen's media relations team. Company spokeswoman Kathleen Cardoza declined to comment for this story.

Brown, whose current title is executive vice president, joined Nuveen in November 2001 as managing director and chief marketing officer. He came to Nuveen from Amazon.com, where he held the same post. Brown also did marketing stints at Mastercard International and US Bancorp.

Word of Brown's upcoming depature comes as Nuveen is in the process of completing its purchase of FAF Advisors' long-term asset management business.
