Vanguard Plans More Share Classes and a Benchmark Switch for a Stock Fund


Vanguard [see profile] is planning to roll out five more share classes, including ETF shares, for its second largest international index fund. The $25.2 billion Total International Stock Index Fund currently offers Investor shares.

The five additional share classes are Admiral (with an estimated expense ratio of 20 basis points), ETF (20 bps), Signal (20 bps), Institutional (15 bps) and Institutional Plus (12 bps).

In addition, Valley Forge, Pennsylvania-based Vanguard plans to change the fund's benchmark from MSCI EAFE + Emerging Markets Index to MSCI All Country World ex USA Investable Market Index. [SEC filing]
