Janus is Throwing its Hat into the Active ETF Ring

Janus last week filed with the SEC to launch active ETFs, which will invest in equity or fixed income securities traded in the U.S. or non-U.S. markets [SEC filing]

The funds may also invest in a broad variety of other instruments including repurchase agreements, reverse repurchase agreements, government securities, cash and cash equivalents, commodities, indexed and inverse floating rate securities, floating and variable rate instruments, convertible instruments, preferred stocks, rights, warrants, real estate investment trusts, shares of other ETFs, UITs and exchange-traded notes, shares of money market mutual funds or other investment companies or pooled investment vehicles, foreign currency, mortgage- and asset-backed securities (including to-be-announced transactions), municipal debt securities, when-issued securities and delayed delivery transactions.

However, the funds will not invest in swaps, options and futures.

Janus said it may select sub-advisers for the funds.
