Vanguard Windsor Sees a PM Change

David Yuen is no longer a co-PM for the AllianceBernstein team subadvising the $12.4 billion Vanguard Windsor Fund. Gregory L. Powell has replaced Yuen effective immediately [SEC filing]. Joseph G. Paul will continue to co-manage the portion of the Fund managed by AllianceBernstein.

The reason for the change is a shift in Yuen's role at AllianceBernstein. A spokesperson for the New York-based money manager said that Yuen now heads Alliance's global long/short absolute return strategy and added that he remains a part of the U.S. value group.

"Gerry [Paul] will be assuming the sole leadership of the US large cap value group," said spokesman John Meyers. He added that Powell will be director of research for the U.S. large cap value strategy and that the shifts in responsibility will be made over the coming months.

Powell has been with AllianceBernstein since 1997.

Yuen has been co-CIO of Alliance Bernstein's US large cap value equities team since September 2009. He took that role after John Mahedy followed former AllianceBernstein CEO Lewis Sanders to Sanders Capital LLC.
