Dreyfus No Longer Sees Stars

Dreyfus will rebrand its $270 million AUM S&P 500 Stars Fund as the Research Core Fund on October 1. The fund sponsor announced the change in an SEC filing on Wednesday.

The firm did not disclose the reason for the rebranding in the filing. The fund currently has a one-star rating from Morningstar.

The PMs for the fund are currently Barry K. Mills, David Sealy and Elizabeth Slover. The filing did not state whether that team will be changed, but it did describe the security selection for the fund.

The filing added that the fund will use a team of core research analysts to select stocks for the portfolio. Each analyst will be select investments in his or her area of expertise using a "fundamental, bottom-up research process to identify investments for the fund," according to the filing.
