"It's amazing to us the amount of rumor, nuance and nonsense we've heard in the last three weeks," FleetBoston Eugene McQuade, chief financial officer, said yesterday to analysts and investors in response to a question. "They're all false," he added about the rumors, according to Reuters. The price of FleetBoston stock has risen 24 percent in the past two weeks.
