Hancock Taps 4th Senior Investment Professional

John Hancock has hired Howard C. Greene to the newly created position of senior vice president and portfolio manager. Greene joins a tenured team of 20 investment professionals responsible for more than $13 billion in fixed-income assets as of March 31, 2002. He will report to Barry Evans, senior financial income officer.

Greene joins Hancock from Sun Life Financial where he was senior vice president and managed more than $13 billion, as of March 31, 2002, in investment-grade and high-yield fixed-income portfolios for separately managed pension clients, mutual funds, other institutional investors and the company's general account. Prior to that, Greene worked at Baring Asset Management Corp. as a fixed-income analyst.

Greene is the fourth senior investment professional hired by John Hancock Advisers this year.
