KeyBank, parent of the Victory Funds, will use Gerbig, Snell/Weisheimer as its new add agency. The contract covers broadcast, radio and print for both consumer and institutional markets. The agency will also responsible for marketing the products and services KeyBank offers to its institutional, high net worth, small business and emerging affluent customers.

Northern Trust has created a new web-based tool to allow more simple communication with its institutional clients and fund managers. The straight-through-processing system is accessible through Northern Trust's Passport and is intended to reduce the faxes, phone calls and other manual communication methods.

The Ziegler Companies hired Donald W. Thayer to build a healthcare mergers & acquisitions practice. Thayer was most recently at Tenet Healthcare where he was the senior M&A advisor. Milwaukee-based Zeigler also provides a managed account platform for financial advisors.

Invesco Funds is adding its Invesco Financial Services, Invesco Health Sciences and Invesco Telecommunications variable investment funds to the newly created MONY Variable Annuity. The addition is part of a push by Invesco into the variable annuity subadvisory business under a group led by Tom Kolbe, national sales manager for Invesco Funds Group.

Money market mutual fund assets fell $605.6 million to $2.362 trillion for the week ended Wednesday, reports the Investment Company Institute. The drop reflected a $5.83 billion decrease in retail funds and an increase of $5.22 billion in institutional fund assets.
