McMorgan & Company, an affiliate of New York Life Investment Management, has named Daniel Szente as its chief investment officer. He will be responsible for the firm's investment strategies.

Szente joins McMorgan from the California Public Employees' Retirement System where he served as chief investment officer as well. He has also been executive vice president and director of research at McGlinn Capital Management.

"With a background in public pensions and private industry, Dan brings over 20 years of investment management experience to McMorgan," stated Paul Morton, coo of McMorgan. "We are very pleased to add Dan's expertise to our existing investment team. Together, that team will perpetuate our investment philosophy and further a tradition of providing consistent, disciplined investment services for our clients."
