Advisor Tools Gets Visa

Wiesenberger is revving up the international version of its InvestmentView.net site in an effort to cash in on the lucrative growth in the offshore fund market.

In a world where NAVs and daily fund performance are ubiquitous, Wiesenberger executives think they have found a way to stand out. Tools available on the American version of InvestmentView.net such as hypothetical illustrations that allow for portfolio construction and profile tools that provide performance and risk measures have proven immensely popular with advisors.

In fact, these tools have proven successful enough to allow for their migration to the international version of the site. Though Wiesenberger has collected its own offshore fund data, it will now feature more comprehensive offshore fund data from the Financial Times' Interactive Division. Other new features include a currency and language converter that provide for what Ramy Shaalan calls "apples-to-apples instead of apples-to-oranges comparisons".

Although the revamped site has a global approach, its real focus is in the hot European and Cayman Island markets. Wiesenberger retains the rights to use the Financial Times Interactive data in all of its offerings.

"The demand for international fund solutions is very broad-based," said Michael Iapalucci, executive vice president of business development, in explaining the products appeal. A dozen large firms are interested in this new offering. Surely, Wiesenberger hopes that this new offering will capture the appeal of advisors who have their eye on the burgeoning offshore fund market.
