Oppenheimer Hires Product Development Head

OppenheimerFunds has hired Kenneth Winston as senior vice president, head of risk management, quantitative research, and product development. Winston, formerly a principal at Richards & Tierney, a Chicago-based firm, will now be based in New York.

Among a spectrum of responsibilities, Winston is in charge of new product development and testing. A graduate of the California Institute of Technology, he also has a PhD in math from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

"The addition of someone with Ken's background, experience and enthusiasm reinforces the firm's commitment to building and maintaining a robust risk management system," said Len Darling, chief investment officer. "He brings to the table almost 20 years of expertise in assessing and analyzing complex investment risk situations."

Oppenheimer officials were not available for comment prior to publication.
